My tanka poem “Phone Call II” appeared in the art of tanka #1 (fall/winter 2023) on page 10. The editor is Pamela A. Babusci.
I wrote this poem in the 1990s and recently revised it as a tanka. A tanka is like a haiku poem, except that tanka are five lines long, so a writer can develop ideas more fully. The poem describes the comfort that a phone conversation can sometimes bring.
