Treats for the Soul: Poetry, Prose, and Pastries, A Celebration of Five Women Writers on Sat. August 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Paw Paw

Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.—Five Southwest Michigan women writers will read from and autograph their published books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry at All Stirred Up! at 404 E. Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw, Michigan 49079.  The authors include Judith A. Rypma, Andrea England, Wilma Kahn, Janet Ruth Heller, and Miriam Bat-Ami.  This reading is free and open to the public.  Families are welcome. Both children's and adult books will be on sale. The five writers will explore the world of nature in its many guises. Janet Ruth Heller and 7 Other Michigan Authors for Children Will Autograph at the Detroit Festival of Books on Sunday, July 15, 2018

On Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Janet Ruth Heller and seven other Michigan authors and illustrators will be autographing their children’s books at the Detroit Festival of Books in the Eastern Market, Shed 6, Table 1 at 2934 Russell Street, Detroit, Michigan 48207.  The other writers and artists there are Lisa Rose, Josef Bastian, Gin Price, Jean Alicia Elster, Patrick Flores-Scott, Jeff Jantz, and Jodi McKay. All of us are members of the Michigan chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.  Janet Ruth Heller will be autographing The Passover Surprise (Fictive Press, 2015, 2016), a middle-grade chapter book about sibling rivalry, and her award-winning fiction picture book about bullying How the Moon Regained Her Shape (Arbordale, 2006; 4th edition 2014).  Please join us!  For more information, please see the Detroit Festival of Books website http://detroitbookfest.com/
