My article “What Is Midwestern about the Poetry of Lisel Mueller?” appears in Midwestern Miscellany 53.1 (Spring 2025) on pages 1-10. This is a special issue devoted to the work of Lisel Mueller, whose book Alive Together won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1997. The Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature publishes Midwestern Miscellany. Article about Sherwood Anderson’s Winesburg, Ohio published in MidAmerica

My article “Multiple Awakenings in Sherwood Anderson’s Story ‘An Awakening’” just appeared in MidAmerica, volume 51 (2024) on pages 43-53. I used to teach this story from the book Winesburg, Ohio to my undergraduate English composition and literature students at Northern Illinois University. The Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature publishes MidAmerica, and the editor is Patricia Oman. Patricia and other members of the editorial board made some very helpful suggestions for revising my article.
