Hear great funny poems at the “CAN POETRY BE FUNNY?” reading on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Public Library in the Van Deusen Room on the third floor.  Special guest speakers are Don Cooney, Lori Moore, Dennis White, Marshall Washington, Judy Sarkozy, Garrard McLeod, Michael Cockrell, and Bonnie Jo Campbell.  This event is free and open to the public. Local poets reading their work are Jennifer Clark, Joe Gross, Elizabeth Kerlikowske, Kit Almy, Janet Ruth Heller, Deborah Gang, Melanie Crow, Margaret DeRitter, Kurt Luchs, Robin Church, Alison Kennedy, and Gemma Wesolowski.  This event is sponsored by Friends of Poetry.  This reading is free and open to the public.  The Kalamazoo Public Library’s address is 315 S. Treats for the Soul: Poetry, Prose, and Pastries, A Celebration of Five Women Writers on Sat. August 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Paw Paw

Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.—Five Southwest Michigan women writers will read from and autograph their published books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry at All Stirred Up! at 404 E. Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw, Michigan 49079.  The authors include Judith A. Rypma, Andrea England, Wilma Kahn, Janet Ruth Heller, and Miriam Bat-Ami.  This reading is free and open to the public.  Families are welcome. Both children's and adult books will be on sale. The five writers will explore the world of nature in its many guises.
