Janet Ruth Heller’s short play entitled Pledging will be performed at the Tritonysia Play Festival at Triton College on May 5-7 and May 12-14, 2017. Triton College is located at 2000 5th Ave., River Grove, Illinois 60171. The performances will be in the Cox Auditorium in the Fine Arts Building, J108, on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m. The festival director is Sommer Austin.

Pledging concerns two college freshmen in the 1960s who are longtime best friends.  Ellen, a Jewish student, gets accepted by sororities at Appleton College.  However, her roommate Brianna, who is African-American, gets rejected by the sororities.  Ellen needs to decide whether to pledge or not.  This drama is based on historical discrimination against people of color by many sororities and fraternities.
